Dr. Gogela was born in Beatrice. He and his wife Kate, a pediatrician, have three sons and a daughter and were raised in Lincoln. They moved back to Lincoln after residency training. Dr. Gogela is an avid sports enthusiast and long-distance runner whose hobbies now entail "whatever [his] kids want to do."
